This Tech Savvy Cocktail Ring Tells You When You Get A Text From A Boy

We’ve all been there. You’re at a bar with your besties and at least one of you (maybe even you) is glued to her phone, waiting for a text. Of course, in an effort to seem casual, the texting offender is ‘gramming, Facebooking, and doing everything in her power to avoid looking like it’s the 1950s and she’s waiting at home by her phone for a boy to call. Combine this waiting with drinking, and it’s a lost phone ready to happen. Now, there’s a savior for girls’ night, in the form of a ring.

While Google Glass is ugly, this latest tech craze is chic and actually useful. Ringly is an 18K gold plated cocktail ring. It connects with your phone, and it tells you when you get a call or text–the stones vibrate and light up, discretely. You can finally put down your phone and start having fun, even when you’re waiting for a booty call (also discretely). The ring costs $145 for pre-order and is $195 in the fall, which is a small price to pay for peace of mind. When 10 of your friends buy a Ringly, yours is free–I sense sorority bulk orders, everywhere, happening soon.

If you’re tired of FOMOing at the mouth because you can’t leave social media behind when you’re out, your days of being attached at the hand to your phone are over forever. The best part? You can customize notifications for certain people. Say, hypothetically speaking, your not-boyfriend’s favorite time to contact you is in the wee hours of the morning. If he has a specific sound, you’ll be ready for business, even when you’re partying. Who needs a Tiffany’s box and proposal? This is obviously the ring for me. I’m already practically married to my phone, anyway, so why not put a ring on it?
