The Secret To Living Forever Is Four Bottles Of Wine A Day

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a glass of wine after a long, hard day of skipping class, slacking off at work, and watching Netflix in bed. It’s relaxing, and we already know it’s pretty healthy for you.

Apparently it’s so healthy that one man in Spain lived to be 107 years old. No, he wasn’t on the #paleo diet and he ate plenty of carbs. His secret to living a long and happy life? Wine. Lots of it. Four bottles of wine a day, if we’re being exact.

Antonio Docampo Garcia was a vineyard owner in north Spain, so he had no shortage of access to the delicious alcoholic beverage. He had wine with almost every meal: one at lunch, two at dinner, and one throughout the evening. Pretty impressive.

His son, Manuel Docampo Lopez, even said that his father could drink “a litre and a half all at once.”

Even more inspiring? According to his son, “he never drank water.”

That’s it — put down your water bottle and go grab yourself a glass of chardonnay. This man is a hero and a visionary and we should all aspire to be like him.

As much as I want to abandon all beverages and suck down a bottle of red right here right now, there are a few other factors to consider. The first is that Docampo only ever drank the organic, chemical-free wine his company, Bodegas Docampo, produced itself. The second is that drinking heavily every day for the next 80 years might not make you live any longer. In fact, it might make you live less.

What we should take away from those two factors is that we should throw out the boxed wine and shell out a few more bucks for the real stuff and also that if it works for him, it might work for us too.

Hey, I’m thirsty and it’s worth a shot.
