It’s no secret that the Kardashians have far from a traditional family dynamic. However, when Blac Chyna entered the picture and started dating Robert Kardashian, after her ex, and baby daddy, Tyga, had gotten together with the youngest sister in the clan, Kylie Jenner, shit really got complicated. Kim and Chyna were even friends before Chyna set her sights on cashing in on the Kardashian name and sticking her fake nails into them the only way that she could – Rob.
When Chyna announced that she was pregnant with the only baby that will carry on the last name Kardashian, the rest of the family was less than pleased. While subtle shade was thrown around for a few months, eventually they decided to kiss and make up, for the sake of the baby. However, it appears as though the hatchet wasn’t buried that deeply.
Chyna had expressed interested in trademarking her new name, Angela Renee Kardashian, in May, after learning that another women had started to use the name Blac Chyna, in hopes of profiting off of her popularity (and stellar reputation?). Chyna learned her lesson once, and isn’t prepared to let anyone else take advantage of her new family name; which is ironic considering the original family isn’t too thrilled at the idea of her using it either.
According to TMZ, Kim, Khloé and Kourtney’s companies have opposed her trademarking request, under the pretense that if Chyna gets what she wants, they will “suffer damage including irreparable injury to their reputation and goodwill.” The sisters aren’t holding back any punches, saying what the rest of the world already thought, that Chyna is “deliberately seeking to profit from the goodwill and popularity” of their last name.
Essentially, the Kardashians don’t want Chyna ruining the reputation that they worked for so hard for. But don’t forget, Kim, the Kardashians wouldn’t be a household name today if it weren’t for a certain sex tape that someone made with Ray J.
As much as the famous family hates Rob’s baby mama, who knows if they’ll legally be able to prevent her from taking on her future hubby’s last name. Only time (and a lawsuit?) will be able to tell if Blac Chyna can move on from her stripper name, and take on the role of the polished Angela Renee Kardashian..
