Starbucks Has Officially Lost It With The Newest Seasonal Frappucino

If there’s one thing Starbucks is known for, it’s inundating us with a constant stream of limited edition beverages that we’re bound to fall in love with, only to have them taken away a week later. Some, like the molten chocolate and cherry blossom drinks, have been awesome, while some other ones, like the smoked butterscotch latte, have missed the mark. This time, Starbucks has taken it to a completely new level with a drink that’s entirely unexpected, will confuse the hell out of you, and will probably encourage you to try it out of sheer curiosity.

As of today, you can officially purchase the fruitcake frappucino in US and Canadian Starbucks stores, although who would do so befuddles me completely. The one food you’ve spent your entire life trying to escape at holiday gatherings will now be available for you to consume in liquid form with a $6 price tag to match. The fruitcake frappucino has a hazelnut créme base blended with cinnamon and dried fruit, then topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a matcha sprinkle. This is a lot to take in, and if I wasn’t confused before, I know that if I order this concoction, my taste buds definitely will be.

This drink will only be offered until December 18th, so if you want to experience this, you’ll have to head over to Starbucks within the next week. While my expectations for this drink are incredibly low, the wide variety of ingredients gives it an awesome color scheme, so if you want an excuse to get more Starbucks for Life game pieces, you might as well order the fruitcake frappucino for the Instagram.
