Leg Contouring Is A Thing, And It Has Got To Stop

Leg Contour

Last month I wrote an article about Kylie Jenner and her contoured ears. I was all for it. It wasn’t a far stretch from contouring your face since, you know, they’re on the same body part as each other. But I just cannot get on board with the new leg contouring craze. What’s that? You haven’t heard of leg contouring. Well yes, it’s apparently a thing now. Heaven help us.

When I first saw the link to the article, I thought it was a joke. I thought someone was playing this up to get a laugh at the numerous ways we use makeup on our bodies. The joke is on me though, because leg contouring is all too real.

From the Instagram video posted by makeupmeri, which walks you through the process, the only change I see about her legs is the lighting of the room. Now, it does caption the video as the Anatomy of the Human body, so of course it looks extreme but that fact of the matter is they took the time to slather all of that makeup on some woman’s legs just to achieve a few skin tone shades darker. Personally, I used a tinted moisturizer to get the job done but that’s just me. Maybe I’m missing something. Or maybe leg contouring is just as crazy as it sounds.

I get that you want to put your best foot, or leg in this case, forward but this has got to stop. We have to draw the line somewhere. Contouring your boobs? Sure, why not if it’ll help you look a bit bustier if you’re lacking. How about your neck? If you want to match your face, then go right ahead. Leave your legs along though. Is no body part safe from the contouring madness?

Apparently not.
