Disney Unleashes Mac And Cheese Bread Cones And We Have The Recipe

If you guys didn’t know this by now, I’m a Disney freak. I go to Disney World just about every year, and I LOVE it. My dream trip is to go to every park in the world in one year. When I go, everything is a meticulously-planned military operation, from getting there an hour before the park opens to when I eat, because, as the Disney food blog says, “food IS a theme park.”

As embarrassing as it is to reveal to you that I’m a frequent reader of a Disney-themed food blog, it is where I found this brand new treat that you’re probably already obsessed with just by looking at it: a giant, cheesy bread cone recipe.

A Disney food blog contributor found this monstrosity of cheese and dough at a concession at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM Studios) at Walt Disney World in Florida, though they originally came from a concession at the brand new Cars Land park at Disneyland in California.

According to the Disney food blog reviewer, “the cone was full-to-overflowing with all sorts of Disney mac-and-cheese goodness. Perfectly ooey, gooey, and cheesy, and that bacon pile from the top dispersed well throughout.”

The cones also come in another variety: the fiesta chili-cheese bread cone. It also looks equally ridiculous.

Want to make your own mac and cheese bread cone at home? Here’s how you do it.

Step 1: Make The Dough

You can always opt out of actually making dough and use a tube of crescent roll dough, but if you want to be authentic, take 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup of milk, a little water, a slightly beaten egg, 1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of oil, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, 1 teaspoon of instant yeast, and half a teaspoon of salt. Mix ’em all together, knead that shit for 8-10 minutes, rub it with a bit of oil, and let it sit for an hour. Then, cut the dough into six pieces or so and roll them into balls.

Step 2: Make The Cones

Take construction paper or a cardboard paper towel tube. Make it cone-shaped. Staple that shit to maintain the shape. DEFINITELY line the paper or cardboard with foil so you don’t set your entire kitchen on fire. Wrap the dough around the cone concoction, brush with an egg glaze, and sprinkle with sesame seeds or whatever you want. Cook the cones for about 15-20 minutes at 350. Let them cool on a wire rack before taking out the cone-shaper thingy.

Step 3: Make The Mac And Cheese

Follow the instructions on the box of mac and cheese. Seriously. I’m not your mom.

Step 4: Cook Bacon

See step three, just don’t burn yourself. Once the bacon cools a bit, crumble it into bits.

Step 5: Stuff Cone With Mac And Cheese And Bacon

Better layer that bacon throughout the cone or else your friends will hate you and call you a bacon-tease.

Step 6: Enjoy!
